Password Format to 1st April 2025
Under the earlier Income-tax Act, the password format included the TAN, Form Number, Quarter, and Financial Year.
Example:
- TDS Return Form: 26Q
- Quarter: Q1
- Financial Year: 2025-26

Password Format From 1st April 2025
With the implementation of the Income-tax Act, 2025, the TDS return forms have been renumbered. For instance, Form 26Q has now become Form 140. Consequently, the password format for the Justification Report has also been revised.
Example:
- TDS Return Form: 140 (Earlier Form 26Q)
- Quarter: Q1
- Tax Year: 2026-27
